like it could just be you put one in your profile name like
🔵 / ✅ doin good ayyyyyy
⚫ /⚪ hanging in there but maybe say a nice thing if you have the energy
⛔ /🚫 /🔴 doin real bad please be nice and give me space if i ask
⚠️ / 🆘 having a crash please be nice and/or assist if you're up for it
like that way all the triggering detail stuff is still under an mh(-) CW but also you can still safely share your status and know what's up with friends
@tinytoydragon that's possible but i'd still say put mh/mental health in there too, some people filter by keyword or wouldn't know about this post i made because i'm literally nobody ahaha
@Kat I agree with your post except for the last line.
@Kat (and that post with the cw was more of a demonstration that emojis would work fine)
@Kat just saw this and honestly it seems VERY helpful. thank you for this. I plan to start using it, myself.
@MmeLibertine iunno if it'll ever catch on and idk if anyone i know even notices it but it's a tiny bit cathartic to have somewhere to put it and that's neat
@Kat I like the idea of going beyond just the no context "mh(-)," I get not wanting to put triggering stuff in the CW but plainly stating stuff like this is basically always good IMO.
Doing it post-by-post kinda has a different feel/effect to a profile status, but it also seems real useful?
@rockario yeah def, i could totally see it being useful in CW labels as well as profile names
@Kat The CW gives a hook for folks to engage with, as opposed to a non-post "I could use someone to talk with." Trade off being that the hook might stick around beyond the need/mood.
@Kat But I'm also coming from a place where I never have anyone talking to me unprompted, so I don't know about the use cases "I could use a break from interaction for a bit"
@rockario i feel it'd be less "don't interact at all" and more "be gentle and also if i don't reply to you, it's nothing personal i'm dealing with stuff"
@Kat TBH, I like "if I don't reply it's nothing personal" being the default all the time.
@Kat Down for this
@Kat may i suggest pinning this to your profile also i hope you feel better soon youre real good ily
@Kat thank you, this resonates so much with me.
@Kat so uh, I like this so much I adopted it
@PsyChuan go for it tbh, if it helps people i'd love if it caught on a bit for them
@Kat I've always thought forum systems should have the ability to color code your message based on mood / intended tone and this feels similar, I like it
@Kat I remember suggesting a 'status' system similar to desktop IMs for Fedi and figured we could use meta tags for it - using the name field does work with existing client support.
@Kat this is a really good idea!
@Kat I've been doing energy/pain/mood posts when I'm having a badish day.
Like: Pain levels are at (usually an emoji bar)
Energy levels are at
Mood is at 🌧️
But having it in your user name is kinda awesome.

also it normalizes it a bit since you can also use these if you don't have anxiety/depression/etc but you do need people to be aware of your status idk just sayin
