@ShugoWah it talks about the money only being an option if you "already have credit monitoring services", and I'm not really sure what that means
@ShugoWah I've never signed up for "credit monitoring services", nor do I have a credit card or any loans, so I don't think I can actually get the check 😔
@starseeker Do you use credit karma? that's credit monitoring and its free. Do you have credit monitoring provided for free from most major credit card companies? chase, discover, citi etc? all credit monitoring services.
@ShugoWah even if we only get 21c each we'll've done our part to ensure punitive damages
@ShugoWah It seems to require a social security number, which I don't have. What does a non-American do?
@ColinTheMathmo I'm sorry I'm not sure, it may be US people only
@sexybenfranklin They have a significant presence in the UK - I don't know why you think they are USA only.
It may be true that that's what they announced, but it absolutely not true that only USA people were exposed:
@ShugoWah "mailed check" nur in den USA
@ShugoWah lol wtf? could also be phishing.
Also only US people, I guess.
@rugk its a government website with the link to a site created by equifax. The story is carried by 10+ major news websites, the settlement was agreed on. It's real.
