Not only Rachel being trans (which was handled surprisingly well for a cartoon!) but also the central theme of change, both within the world, and in animation and cartoon culture as well. They got in their digs against 3D, cheap animation and the modern animation industry without being fatalistic, and it still felt like a classic rocko episode. I really liked it.
@caymanwent it really did! The meta was good and I'm all about the meta commentaries in media. The fight with Mr Bighead and Rachel, and then THE FOLLOW UP! Having him talk about the WHY he initially rejected her and the culmination of his experiences leading to his breakdown and talk on the roof really made for a powerful redemption and reunion in the finally, and that is something I dont think I've seen illustrated so clearly before. A really approachable angle for the audience.
