I think the only concern I have with the palette swapping is that, if you do it a bunch, the texture swaps start adding up, but its also because I'm drawing to the surface several times each step in the video when normally I just draw to it once when I create/update the palette


if you wanted to make your entire game palette based, then it'd require a bigger solution involving all the graphics in your game to have weird colors, and then running a single pass on the entire game screen to adjust the colors

if you do that though, that one's up to you haha
